The Chlorination is the effective method of disinfection in drinking water. We are supplying the equipments Electro chlorine units to produce on site Chlorine in the form of sodium hypo. These equipments have Titanium anode and cathode, FRP storage tanks, copper wounded rectifiers transformer, PVC Pipes, and meters.
• By adding hypochlorite to water, Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is formed:
NaOCl + H2O → HOCl + NaOH-
• Hypochlorous acid is divided into hydrochloric acid (HCl) and oxygen (O). The oxygen atom is a very strong oxidator.
• Sodium hypochlorite is effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi. Sodium hypochlorite disinfects the same way as chlorine does.
This chlorination process consists of 3 stages.
• One is brine preparation; as per required amount of sodium Chloride dissolved in raw water is called brine preparation.
• Second one is electrolytic process; here AC power is converted to DC power to ionization process. The ionization processes is carried out by anode and cathode having power supply positive at anode and negative at cathode.
The following chemical processes happened in electrolytic cell.
2Cl- ==> Cl2 + 2e- (anodic reaction)
2H2O + 2e- ==> 2OH- + H2 (cathodic reaction)
Cl2 + 2OH- ==> OCl- + Cl- + H2O (hypochlorite formation)
• Third one is called as hypo injection processes; this is most important processes for disinfection of water. Here prepared NaOCl is pumped to the delivery line by using of dosing pump with specified flow rate, and time.This processes are automated by relay and PLC controls. The safety precaution controlled by very sensitive relays and tripping devises.
